Out and about on the Guzzi Breva

Florida's weather has returned to normal after a week of colder temps last week. This past weekend was quite nice with highs in the low to mid 70's and lows in the 50's. Pretty much this upcoming week is the same. This past week I have been under the weather with a crummy cold.

I got out on the Breva yesterday for a nice 110 mile loop with my friend Andrew (late model Triumph Tiger). It was a swell ride and the first real ride I have had since I got my Breva back from the repair shop.

It felt good to be back in the saddle and the Goose ran very well. We just took some Florida back roads and state highways, past a lot of orange groves and black bear crossing warning signs. Those black bears are supposed to be native to the area but I have never seen one, though Andrew says one was cruising through his neighborhood a few months ago.

I sure do look forward to getting back on the bike for another adventure somewhere.

Some more Breva fixin'

I received my replacement head guards for my Moto Guzzi Breva in the mail today. The head guards purpose it to protect the engine should the motorcycle fall over, which as previously documented on this blog happened to my Breva late last year at the hands of a fiend.

So I spent a little time in the garage tonight setting the valve clearances on the Breva and putting my keen new head guards on the bike. Here are some pics.

Alfa 164L struts installed!

Well the new KONI rear struts are installed on the Alfa Romeo 164L! WOW, what a difference. The ride is so well controlled now it virtually "floated" over bumps and handled large dips in the road with aplomb. Ahhh, such a pleasure to drive now :=)

New suspenders for the Alfa Romeo 164L

Tomorrow I am taking a drive down to Longwood, FL to see my friends Paul and Dan at European Motor Service. These guys are the Alfa Romeo guys in the Orlando area. I recently bought some new KONI struts and related parts to replace the old, original rear struts on the 164L (172,000+ miles on those).

So bright n early tomorrow the fellas at European are gonna give the 164L some new suspenders....woohoo! Can't wait to feel the difference in ride quality!
