Lotsa fun at Quaker Steak

Windy city pizza pie!

One of my very nice coworkers in Florida sent something to me today. On occasion I try to help her write some custom xsl (extensible stylesheet language) which is what one of our software products uses to retrieve data and then fill in a document with that data.

Anyway, she was really nice and sent me two Chicago style pizzas, right from the best (according to her and their website) pizza place in Chicago!

Thanks Jennifer!!!

Lunch with BTSG

Today Bruce the Spruce Goose and I walked a few blocks over to Valentino's Pizza for the express lunch special. Spruce had a coupon for a free slice of pizza pie which he gave me. Thanks Spruce.

On the way back the Spruce Goose posed for a picture out front of our office building here in Millard, NE.

Another bike added to the stable!

Yes, you heard it right, I have purchased another bike for my ever shrinking garage. Top quality components, lightweight yet strong aluminum frame...lotsa goodies!

Here she is!

After having been ill for a couple days and pretty much stuck in the house I got out for a lil ride in my 1986 Alfa Romeo Spider today. Kind of a cool, cloudy and windy day but pretty nice with the top down and the heat turned up :) Little car always is a joy to drive.

Riding the Lincoln Highway

A group of my motorcycling pals and I spent a beautiful Sunday afternoon riding chunks of the old Lincoln Highway, the first road across America. We rode a stretch of the original brick as well as many miles of it in eastern NE and western Ia.

Sorry for the lack of pics but we were having too much fun and only stopped once at the King's Crossing Cafe. We arrived there at 2:55 and they were closing up at 3:00 but they stayed open just for us :-) Awesome place!

A day of motorcycling fun

Today I got out for a ride with my bro in law RR on the Guzzis. A real swell time indeed.

Reconnaissance

I took a walk today around my neighborhood and the surrounding sectors to try to determine the source of an aroma I smell from time to time whilst outdoors.

Well I located it! In an industrial/office park about a mile away. A roasting company! I saw the smoke billowing from a vent and once I smelled it I knew I had found it. I think they are roasting coffee, so kinda pleasant actually.

Adjusting the Stelvio suspension

Today I spent a bit of time fiddling with the suspension settings on the Guzzi Stelvio. Click the link below for some pics and comments.

Becoming whole again

A few weeks ago my Guzzi Stelvio fell over in the driveway when I foolishly left it oidling unattended on its side stand. So I have been slowly replacing a few damaged parts.

The part that received the most damage was the left side valve cover, which was cracked clean through. Luckily my friend Super Cub Pilot Bob has superb welding skills so he was able to weld it so I could keep riding.

Today my new valve cover arrived! A few minutes later it is now on the bike and it's getting closer to looking good as new again.

An Easter visit to sis' house

Today I took a ride over to my sister's house to have the traditional Easter lasagne with her, her husband Robert and the two tikes, Aidan and Roman.

Before we ate, Robert and I needed to take a look at an issue on his new (to him) 1999 Moto Guzzi California EV. The brake light were not working. SO suffice it to say 2 hours later and after having removed the tank, fuse panel, etc. to try to find a crimped wire or WHATEVER, we put it all back together and no joy, the brake lights don't work yet. Well they did work a little bit but then didn't again. Strange.

But eventually after dinner we went for a little ride and that bike sounds and looks GOOD!

Anyway, here are a few action shots of Robert and also some pics of my real cute nephews Aidan and Roman.

Riding with the sweet Lord perched upon my shoulder

Today I had GREAT ride in Iowa. 7 bikes cruising in the Loess Hills of Iowa. If you find yourself in western Iowa you MUST ride L34...high speed sweeper after high speed sweeper. What a hoot!

3 Guzzis, 3 Harleys and a lone Honda.

Today's stuff

It's a beautiful springtime morning in Omaha, NE today. Bright sunshine and a crisp temp in the mid 30's. However the temps are supposed to rise to the low 60's with bright sun all day so this will make for a good motorcycling day.

I am leading a ride today over to some of the really fun roads and state highways in Iowa's Loess Hills. Some really good roads over there with big sweeping curves and even some nice twisty bits with elevation changes. About as good as it gets out here in the otherwise flat lands. Maybe I can scrub a bit of rubber off the outer tire treads instead of down the center as usual.

It looks so far like we have at least 6 fellas on the ride today...maybe more. Should be fun!

Here are a few pics of my backyard now that all the snow is gone and the grass is getting green. I need to get a table and some chairs for the patio. That's my trusty MHP (Modern Home Products) grill you see there. A faithful friend for many years now.

I hope my readers (all 3 of you) have a wunnerful Saturday!
