Halloween in Florida

It was a kinda fun time at work today. Lots of folks dressed in the Halloween best! Here are a few pics of folks at work today and my friend Coco greeting neighborhood kids as I passed out candy tonight.

20 years....

This month (10/12 to be exact) marked my 20 year anniversary with Fiserv. My bosses Glenn and Mary took Carl (5 years with Fiserv) and I and some of our co-worker cronies out for a beer.

Thank you Glenn and Mary. 20 years. Not sure how many more the good Lord will let me stay around but it's sure been a lot of fun so far.

Authentic german meal...and then a movie!

Today was a real treat for me. I got to have something I very rarely get...an authentic, home-cooked meal! My normal fare of pb&j sandwiches, cereal and such gets tiring after a while.

Teener and Carl invited me over today for some delicious authentic German vittles which Teener made. WOW was it awesome! Teener made potato dumplings, red cabbage and rouladen (a german beef roll stuffed with bacon). The beef roll is seared and then stewed in delicious juices, rendering it delightfully tender. This was also accompanied by a homemade gravy which was out of this world!

Sweet Lord was it ever great! Carl is a very lucky fella! Thank you Carl and Teener for having me over to share lunch with you!

After lunch I went to see the movie "Dan in Real Life" starring Steve Carell (of The Office, Evan Almighty, etc.) It was a really great movie and I recommend it highly. A very sweet story.

Deliveries from the Motherland...Italia!

I arrived home this evening to find some deliveries straight from Italy on my doorstep and in my mailbox.

Firstly, I got a cooler than heck Moto Guzzi pin, straight from Milano, Italia! Courtesy of my pal in Nebraska, Stal Caniglia! Thank a lot Stal. I will wear it proudly tomorrow to the workplace....Grazie al mio amico!

I also received my 12 pack of AGIP 10w-60 synthetic oil for the mighty Guzzi Breva 1100. Fresh from the refinery in Roma, Italia. The Guzzi gets only the finest lubrication for its motor to keep things in fine, silky smooth, running order!

Viva Italia!

Time for a rant....

Well, gd it all to H E double toothpicks, Kid Guzzi is perturbed once again.

I was enjoying a fine wheat ale with my chums Jim and Carl tonight. Nice way to end the day, discussing bikes and cars and such. Well, Carl leaves to go pick out plates with his newly (and lovely) betrothed Teener, and some turkey of the first order occupies Carl's barstool.

This is not a good thing. As Jim and go about our business discussing the events of the day, leaning towards Jim's affinity for classic Japanese motorcycles, Captain Turkey feels the need to interject himself into our conversation!!

This feathered goon would not shut his yapper! He sat there sucking his glass of merlot, continually fabricating worthless bits of info to add to the conversation. I had to restrain Jim from physically assaulting this idgit.

Here's a lesson for the great unwashed.....if'n you see a couple fellas at your local watering hole engaged in pleasant conversation about cars and motorcycles, don't interject your half*ss, crap*ss jibberish into their conversation.

Drink your merlot...maybe have some fancy french cheese and crusty bread and keep to your own d*mned self!

On a separate note, I received my John Fogerty cd today and it is quite a rockin' cd romulan! Also, I am having a gourmet pb&j samich for dinner. It is a hand-made samich on soft oatmeal bread, utilizing a sweet and supple preserve called red raspberry! I sliced it on the diagonal, which lends an aire of sophistication to the sustenance. Note the crispness of the cut. Rather remarkable what modern metalurgy provides.....

New Guzzi Stelvio

This appears to be a pic of the new Moto Guzzi Stelvio, Guzzi's entry into the Adventure touring realm. These are bikes which are supposed to have some dirt road capabilities as well as being street bikes.

I ordered a couple new cd's

One of my favorite musical groups since I was a wee lad is the Eagles. The last studio album of new music from the Eagles was "The Long Run" in 1979. 28 friggin' years ago!

Well, October 30th is the release date for "Long Road Out of Eden", the new Eagles double cd (20 songs!) Go here and click the link on the page to hear the new song "How Long"....GREAT song!

I also ordered the latest cd from John Fogerty, the creative force behind Creedence Clearwater Revival (aka CCR). Really looking forward to the arrival of that cd as well!

Biketoberfest

Today I have the day off and am heading up to Daytona Beach with a couple of chums for Biketoberfest. This event generally attracts 250,000 or so motorcycle riders to the Daytona Beach area.

............I am finally back home from a long day of riding and looking at bikes and people who are in no condition to be wearing as little clothing as they were...ohhh my eyes!!!

I rode there with my mates (Brit-speak for pals) Bob and Andrew and then met up with some of Andrew's friends there.

Anyway, here are some pics from today's adventure. I did not see even one othe rMoto Guzzi :0(

However, lots of cool bikes and paint jobs and a neat motorized bar stool and a motorized couch!! Plus I got to see some of the actual motorcycles and the rocket ship used by the legendary Evel Knievel!! The rocket ship is what he used to try to jump the Snake River Canyon (he failed as the parachute deployed early and he floated down into the Snake River).

Also neat was the Can Am three wheel vehicle. I would like one if anyone wants to buy me one...thank you in advance.
