Great Saturday ride with friends

Today I went on an awesome ride with some good motorcycling friends. What made it even more special is that Moto Guzzi motorcycles outnumbered the others, with 3 Guzzis, 2 Harleys and 1 Yamaha present.

My friends Scott and his stepson Brad rode on his Harley, Dennis rode his Harley, my brother in law Robert was on his Guzzi, Ken was on his Guzzi, Ryan was on his Yamaha and I was on my Guzzi.

We rode some fantastic roads in Iowa's Loess Hills, including a few I have not ridden for over 4 years since I had moved to Florida. Great to rediscover these gems. Thanks Ryan for leading us on some of those. 170 miles of joy today :-)

New riding friend Ken rides a Guzzi V7 Classic. What a sweet bike. Now I want one but alas I can't afford one. Oh well, we can't always get what we want.

Exhaust-ing Alfa activity

Tonight I spent a little time in the garage working on my 1986 Alfa Romeo Spider. The Spider has two muffler...a center one and a rear one. Not long after I bought the Spider I replaced the rear one as it was in quite poor condition. More recently the center muffler had been developing rust holes which I dutifully patched with jb weld. But it began to deteriorate too much, rusting apart inside.

So I purchased a new center muffler section and put it on tonight. A liberal application of PB Blaster lubricant a couple days ago on the bolts holding the muffler in place really helped as they came off almost effortlessly. I must say the replacement part fit just perfectly and was really no struggle at all to replace.

Now she's all back together again and sounding swell :-)

European Bike Night 2

My friend Ryan and I took a ride down to Lincoln, NE to the old Haymarket District downtown for European Bike Night.
