Looking forward to the cool

It's been an oppressively hot week here in the Great Plains. Mid to upper 90's every day and heat index temps between 110-115. That factors in humidity I guess for more of a "feels like" temp.

Friday the Stallion is carting the Breva 1100 over here and we will adjust the valve clearances, rebalance the throttle bodies and hook it up to the pc to reset the throttle position sensor and run a few tests. Garage time is fun time, especially with food friends.

Saturday s/b cooler and pleasant. I hope to get over to my pal DT's house to check out his new bike, a HD Super Glide Custom. Way to go DT!

Sunday is a big vintage motorcycle event in Lincoln, NE at Pioneers Park. Looking forward to that!

In between that stuff I'll get my exercising in, mow the lawn, wash the car and get out for some riding on the Guzzis. Gotta exercise them too!

Heck maybe I'll even fit in a little time for the Alfa Spider too. :)

In Need

Today's Grand Funk Railroad tune is "In Need" off the self-titled "Grand Funk" album, their second album, released in late 1969.

A ride in the country

I took the Guzzi Stelvio out for a ride in the country early this a.m. to beat the oncoming heat.

The Loess Hills of Iowa are the best roads in this area so I find my self going back there often. This morning was great as there was almost no traffic on these nice country roads surrounded by farm fields and bluffs.

I really wanted to get a feel for any changes in the Stelvio now that I have installed the re-mapped Guzzitech ecu in the bike.

For certain the bikes pulls more strongly and displays a "snappier" response right off idle. It really charges forward and I was surprised how quickly I was able to hit the ton (100 mph).

It's a pretty nimble bike, especially for such a big bike. I was able to hustle it through curves there with posted limits of 35-40 mph at 75-80 mph with great confidence.

MetricFest

I took a little ride today on the Guzzi Stelvio over to an event called MetricFest. This is an event celebrating cool old Japanese iron.

Lots of VERY COOL bikes there. Here are a few pics and a link to my PhotoBucket album with all the pics.

Checkin' out bikes from across the pond

Tonight was European Motorcycle Night again in the Haymarket area of downtown Lincoln, NE. First Wednesday of every month(except in the winter).

I met up with some friends and the whole group of us(about 10 bikes) rode down to Lincoln via state hwy 6. We arrived to another good crowd tonight and a boat load of cool bikes again.

Here are some pics below as well as a link to all the pics on Photobucket. Click on the pics to enlarge them.

Cox Classic

Today I attended the Cox Classic Golf Tournament. This was held at The Champions Run Golf course in NW Omaha. It is one of the big events of the Nationwide Tour, one step down from the PGA Tour I think.

My friend Ryan invited me to go along and it was a good time. Beautiful course but quite hilly. In the heat of the day it was tiring walking the course several miles but a really good time.

Below are a few pics and then a link to the rest of the pics on Facebook. Thanks for reading!
