Today's Grand Funk tune is called "Heartbreaker", from the Grand Funk Railroad album "On Time", their first album which was released in 1969.
This is Grand Funk Railroad as I liked them best, a raw power trio, the type of sound they had on their first five albums. After that they became a four piece band and added more Top 40 songs to their repertoire. Still a great band throughout, but for me, I'll always love the original 3 piece band the best.
Sit back and enjoy the earthy and elemental sound of Grand Funk Railroad, circa 1969.....

also the air conditioner on my 1996Monte Carlo (which gets over 30mpg on the highway trip from Topeka to Omaha), now with an odometer reading of 154,000 miles, conked out last July, spent $800 for a new compressor installation, and it works gangbusters. It is probably the best auto I have ever owned. Everything works except the cruise control, which would cost $700 (new servo needed) to fix- so I will have to keep my eyes on the speedomoter more often, as that repair is not worth the investment.
USA today this past week had conflicting reports on Florida weather, one talked about drought-like conditions; the other about the massive rainfall. Weather in all parts of the country has been weird, maybe heaven forewarning us about things to come.
Having a new septic tank field installed, the old one is giving up the ghost (an original 1962 installation). Will cost some $3000., but necessary for several good reasons!
If you have a Loretta Lynn recording of "one's on the way" do play it, it is a reminder of earlier days when wives really played the role of child-bearing mothers, in times of great personal stress. I love the lilt of the vocal, especially since it features a city in Kansas!
Having good luck lately with Texas grapefruit, sweet and very juicy. Is it Florida harvest time yet, and, if so, how is the quality of the citrus?
See that Cutler's feelings have been hurt, he has left beautiful Colorado and now he is with the
windy City Bears! What an adolescent jerk! If he is married I would guess that his wife is not too happy about moving!
Look for an exceptional year from the Chiefs with their new QB. And for the Patriots to make the most of their draft picks.
70 temp due here this afternoon, but back to blustery, rainy and snowy conditions for the next week.
Michael Vick will resurface the 2009-10 season, but wherever he goes the asinine PETA people will pull out all the plugs to try to keep him from being hired. All they do is convince more people to dislike dogs! There is a certain portion of the population which appears to have more concern for pet animals than they do for human beings.
Hey Chris, The World Herald says that there will be a concert in Memorial Park on June 26th with the headliners being no other than Grand Funk Railroad and the Guess Who! Didn't know if you were aware of it or not, but if you are coming up for a visit to the Big O in the summer that might be something to think about. take care my friend. :)
