So we got 2-3 inches of fluffy white stuff yesterday, actually pretty nice as it covers the normal brown, grey and generally drab winter scenery here in the midwest. Easy enough to shovel away this morning as well.
Tonight, tomorrow and into Wednesday looks to be another story entirely, however, which you can see by reading the following weather forecast:
With the light snow ending this morning, full attention will shift to the next, more significant and potentially dangerous, winter storm. Snow from this approaching winter storm will affect our region late tonight through Wednesday.
Storm total accumulations: Snow accumulations of 8 to 12 inches are likely with the winter storm tonight through Wednesday.
Winds/visibility: North to northwest winds of 25 to 35 mph, with gusts around 45 mph, are likely by late Tuesday night, and continuing through Wednesday. Visibilities late Tuesday through Wednesday may be less than one quarter mile due to blowing snow.
Impacts: Slick travel conditions are expected this morning, especially on less treated roads and walking surfaces. The approaching winter storm will have the capability of combining heavy snowfall with strong winds to create near blizzard conditions, especially Tuesday night.
Heavy snow accumulations will significantly impact travel and may result in road closures. After the snowfall ends Wednesday morning, the strong gusty winds will have the potential to produce considerable blowing and drifting snow, with near whiteout conditions Wednesday.

Omaha public schools are closed for tomorrow (Tuesday), as well. Welcome back to Nebraska!
